Peoples Democratic Party the Plateau State chapter has warned the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state to stop from attacking its members during campaigns.

The party allotted the warning in a statement issued in Jos, the state capital, on Tuesday after an emergency meeting of the state campaign council.

The statement was signed by the chairman of the Campaign Council’s Media and Publicity Committee, Mr Yiljap Abraham.

Abraham claimed that the state government and the APC were training and arming thugs ahead of the elections.

He regretted that instead of empowering them to be more useful to the society, the state government had been busy using the youth as political thugs.

“We want to caution the ruling party and the government to rethink this concept, because it is totally unacceptable and retrogressive in a state that is intensely hungry for development, not violence,” he said

He assured the people of the state that the PDP would continue to embrace peace while working hard to restore the state’s fortune and dignity.
