2015: Group endorses Jonathan

The Upata Peoples Democratic Party Stakeholders Forum has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in office, saying he has made remarkable improvement in sectors of the economy.

The group, in a communiqué issued after its meeting in Abuja, on Tuesday, stated that the President had improved the improved the education sector through the establishment of new universities.

The communiqué co-signed by the forum’s chairman, Chief J.O. Ezebalike, and secretary, Innocent Edi, also observed that Jonathan’s administration had deepened the country’s democracy by encouraging the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct credible elections in the country.

It said that the idea of the National Conference portrayed the President as a leader with a vision, stressing that the administration had made tremendous impact in the area of external relations.

“His regime has witnessed a free political atmosphere devoid of political victimisation, this and many other contributions he has made to better the standard of living of the citizenry have prompted the forum to urge Mr. President to declare his interest for the election in2015,” the communiqué stated.

The group also endorsed the Minister of Education, Nyeso Wike, as the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Rivers State in 2015, saying Wike developed Obio-Akpor Local Government Council during his tenure as council chairman.
