The mood is one of celebration as the Chairman/Founder of Chrisland University, Winifred Adefolahan Awosika clocks 79.

Dr. Awosika is many things to many people but in a nutshell she has been an embodiment of love and greatness and these virtues are not hard for anyone to see. These have been her driving force in contributing positively to as many that are privileged to cross her path.

For love of the country, especially the future leaders of this country, she established Chrisland Educational Organisation in 1977. She tirelessly nurtured this seed from the very humble beginning and 42 years after has grown into a global brand producing four (4) Nursery/Primary Schools , four (4) Secondary Schools (in Lagos and Abuja), a Pre degree College, and most recently, Chrisland University, which officially received its licence on the 5th of March, 2015.

As an epitome of greatness that she is, Dr. Awosika has sweatlessly transferred that aura to all Chrisland schools. It is therefore not surprising that Chrisland schools are noted for academic excellence and maintaining the Chrisland standard by setting the pace in the private education sector.

Her contributions have not gone unnoticed as she continues to rake in awards and recognitions from all angles. She has already bagged a Doctorate degree in Management Technology (Honoris Causa) from the Federal University of Technology Akure and laurels from the Science and Mathematics Teachers Association of Nigeria. She is also a Fellow and member Governing Council, Institute of Directors in Nigeria (I.O.D) and Chancellor/Chairman Board of Trustees, Chrisland University. She is also a Fellow of the Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo.

In year 2004, Dr. (Mrs.) Awosika was conferred with the Nigeria National Merit Award: Officer of the Order of the Niger – OON, for her immense contribution to the development of education and service to her country.

 As Dr. Awosika turns 79 and seeing her age long seeds coming to fruition, she certainly has a lot to celebrate and be thankful for as she is certainly living her dream and having it become a reality right before her very eyes.
