Deputy Inspector General (DIG) 0f police who is also the supervising DIG in-charge of the south/west for the forth coming general elections, DIG Yakubu Jbrin has stated that the police force is ready to ensure security during and after elections.

He stated this while addressing a cross section of press, observer groups and men of the police in Abeokuta on Thursday.

He added that all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure safety and security of the general public.

The DIG enjoined all politicians to play according to the rules as election is not a do or die. He added that politicians should impress on their supporters to shun all forms of violence.
