The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu of wasting the state resources by appointing new special advisers that would not yield any economic value to the state.

The APC’s alarm is coming against the backdrop of recent lamentations by Governor Aliyu that most of his special advisers in the past seven years were not living up to his expectations but only interested in claiming salaries/allowances at the end of the month.

The party advised Governor Aliyu to concentrate on things that would improve the lives of people.

Publicity Secretary of the APC in Niger State, Jonathan Vatsa, said “it is more absurd that he knows that there were Special Advisers who were not doing their jobs for seven years and still went ahead to appoint new ones to be paid from the lean resources of the state.

“The revelation came to us as a surprise over Governors’ claims that some Special Advisers are doing nothing in the past seven years,” he said, adding that Aliyu’s outburst was an indication that the PDP is squandering state funds on political patronage.
