Oyo state Commissioner of Police, CP Shina Olukolu led other sister security agencies to ensure a peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections across the state.

The elections which held in the state was adjudged by many to have been relatively peaceful barring a few skirmishes in some wards.

According to the observation of CEOAfrica, the synergy between the Police force and other security agencies on the field was very cordial. The Police commissioner led a team of operatives including men of the police, the Army, Civil Defense, FRSC, Immigration, EFCC, and DSS across the state in a show of force and to give the residents a sense of security during and after election.

In virtually all the polling units visited across Ibadan and the Oyo Township, voting was seen going on peacefully.

CP Olukolu noted that the turnout was impressive which underlines the fact that Nigerians are interested in the process of electing their leaders and also suggests that they felt a sense of safety to have come out to exercise their civic rights.
