DJIBOUTIAN EMPLOYEES RESUME WORK AFTER 50-DAY PROTEST STRIKES

The Djiboutian at the US Naval Expeditionary Base Camp Lemonnier has returned to work after 5odays of strike.

CEOAFRICA has gathered through the report from the Djiboutian Information Agency which stated that the 1,037 Djiboutian employees on the base had launched a strike when the appointed American Management Company Kellogg, Brown and Root announced plans to dismiss half of the local staff and also to reduce the wages of remaining workers by 50%.

According to statement by US military, the returning employees were receive by dignitaries such as  the Commander of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa Major General Terry Ferrell, Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamoud Ali Youssouf and US Ambassador to Djibouti Geeta Pasi.
