Oyo Police recovers a trailer loaded with 600 bags of fertilizer

The Oyo state Police Command paraded today, some suspects who were arrested 6th of June 2014, at about 8:00am; where they recovered a trailer loaded with 600bags of fertilizer from a ware house at Monatan-Olodi area of Ibadan.

Special Anti-Robbery squad (SARS) operatives left for Monatan-Olodo area of Ibadan, where a trailer with registration number ABC 975 XL loaded with 600 bags of fertilizer was recovered and were able to arrest One Yahaya Sanni who brought the goods from Lagos was arrested alongside with Suliamon Sani, Abdulai Hassan and Abdulrahman Sanni, who were the driver and the motor boys and also Oliver Eze who happened to be the receiver was also arrested.

The arrested suspects confessed that the trailer was hijacked and brought to the warehouse in Ibadan where they awaits buyers for it.

"We have contacted the owner; the owner will be coming from kano" the Commissioner of Police CP Mohammed Indabawa told CEOAFRICA’s correspondent. Also, he implored members of the public to report any sales or storage of fertilizers to the police as fertilizers are no longer used solely for farming as unscrupulous elements but now used for explosives.
