Governor Nasiru Ahmed El-rufai has been declared winner of the governorship election in Kaduna State by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

According to the Returning Officer, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello said that El-rufai of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged winner in the election, having scored the highest number of votes of 1,045,427 against his main rival in the election and candidate of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Isah Ashiru Kudan who scored 814,168.

He said the APC candidate, Nasiru Ahmed El-rufai, having scored the highest number of votes in the election, is hereby declared winner and returned”.

The results are as follows:

Total number of registered voters= 3,946,800

Accredited voters= 1,936,800

Rejected votes= 31,515

Total valid votes= 1,889714

Total valid cast= 1,921,229
