As the people of Rivers State continue to reflect on the crisis that rock the State House of Assembly on July 9, 2013, the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the crisis was instigated by the state government to prevent an “imaginary impeachment” that existed only in the minds of government officials and was never contemplated by the lawmakers.

PDP State Chairman, Felix Obuah, stated this in a press statement he issued weekend, while reflecting on the one-year-old crisis that has rocked the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Obuah also said the crisis orchestrated by the government currently rocking the state judiciary is a mould of the Rivers State House of Assembly crisis aimed at preventing another “illusory impeachment” plan that also existed only on Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s mind.

He argued that the lawmakers and the party have not contemplated impeaching Governor Ameachi.

“We therefore wonder why Amaechi is afraid of what has not been contemplated and for which he has deliberately destroyed both the Assembly and the Judiciary”.

PDP also came down hard on Hon Chidi Lloyd, whom the party described as lacking in “conscience” and urged him to seek the face of God for restitution.
