Pope Francis arrives in Morocco for a two-day visit which will see him meet Muslim leaders and migrants ahead of a mass with the country’s minority Catholic community.

Rain showered the waving Vatican City and Morocco flags during the pope’s drive from the Rabat-Sale Airport to the Royal Palace in Rabat. The pontiff was greeted with an official parade down Mohammed V Avenue.

Following the parade, the pope was received by King Mohammed VI at the entrance of the Royal Palace — a long-awaited meeting that was officially announced in March.

Details later.
