Arsenal boss, Unai Emery, has divulged that his men were second best, after the 4-1 defeat from Chelsea in the Europa League final.

It was goalless draw at the first half, before it’s crowned as 4:1, after the goals of Giroud, Pedro, Hazard (scoring twice) and Iwobi, having Arseanal been crushed at the second half.

This defeat marred Emery’s love affair with this competition to end the Gunners’ 25-year wait for continental success in his first season.

Revealing why they lost to Chelsea, the Arsenal manager told BT Sport: “First is congratulations to Chelsea.

“In the first half we played with good opportunities to take a good result. We got to the box with good options and chances to score but the first goal changed the game.

“We tried to stay in the match but their second goal made it difficult for us. It was going better for them and when we wanted to do something, we couldn’t find what we needed to score. They deserved to win”.
