UPDATE: Alex Iwobi sets new record in Europa League final

Arsenal striker, Alex Iwobi has recorded a history to behold after netting in their 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Europa League final in Baku on Wednesday Night.

The Super Eagles star became the first Nigerian player to net in an European club competition, involving European Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup.

The Gunners missed the chance to qualify for next season’s Champions League after Chelsea slammed them 4:1 in the Europa League Final.

The 23-year-old Iwobi came off the bench in the 66th minute.

Iwobi in the 69th minute lashed in a tremendous volley from outside the area to make it 3-1 to give Arsenal a flicker of hope, following the first 3 goals from Chelsea having Giroud (49), an erstwhile Arsenal player score with a header three minutes into the second half, Pedro Rodríguez (60) and Eden Hazard (pen 65).

Eden Hazard in the 72nd minute crowned the Blues comprehensive victory for the night.
