Police in Mai Mahiu area in Naivasha are probing an outlandish incident of a woman who sewed the mouth of her son over poor performance in school.

Reports showed that the scene occurred on Friday, but the issue was reported to police on Tuesday following complaints from a neighbour.

The ten-year-old from Sacred Hearts Primary School had performed poorly academically forcing the mother to sew part of his mouth.

Mai Mahiu Sub-county Commissioner, Julius Nyaga has confirmed the happening, adding that the young boy has been transported to Naivasha sub-county hospital as part of the probes.

"The issue has been reported to the area police station and we are waiting for hospital report before taking the next step," Nyaga attested.
