The Katsina State Police had apprehended two persons of the age 20, identified as Ismail Abdulmumini together with Sani Haruna, for raping their neighbour’s 10-year-old daughter.

According to the police, the victim’s father, Isah Abdullahi, reported the incident at the Dandume police station on May 17, 2019, a day after the suspects were said to have been caught molesting the victim.

It was reported that the accused persons lured the victim into a proximal uncompleted building where she was raped.

The police had charged the two men based on their alleged confession that they molested their neighbour’s 10-year-old daughter.

The accused persons were subsequently ordered to be remanded in the Katsina Prison custody.

The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime during a police probe.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, said probe into the case was in progress, leading the magistrate to adjourn the case until July 8, 2019.

The reported rapists would thereby face Katsina Senior Magistrates’ Court, on July 8, 2019, to answer to charges of criminal conspiracy and rape levelled against them.
