Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has instructed all public servants who were in Extension of Service in the State civil service, to leave their respective positions starting from 30th June, 2019.
Ikpeazu, who instructed in a succint statement issued by the State Head of Service, Sir Onyi Wamah, and made available to newsmen in Umuahia on Wednesday, said the affected public servants were mandated to handover all government property in their possession to the most senior Officer under them in their Ministry, Department and Agency.
The statement further maintained that all Permanent Secretaries, Head of Ministerial, non Ministerial Departments and Bureaux are to ensure that all staff in Extension of Service in their MDA comply with the directive.
“Heads of Finance Department are also to ensure that no further payroll of salaries should be extended to the affected after 30th June, 2019 as they will be held pecuniary responsible for any lapse,” the statement read.
