A Nyamira express bus on Friday caught fire on Wangari Maathai road in Nairobi.

According to reports, the inferno break-out started from the back while passengers were on board.

The locals hastily helped cummuters to get off the bus and firefighters responded in good time to put out the fire.

No wounds were reported.

The cause of the fire is yet to be pinpointed.

CEOAfrica recalls that, in November 2018, an incident of similitude was reported at Manyani area in Taita Taveta when a bus belonging to Tahmeed Company burst into flames on its way to Mombasa.

More than 40 passengers escaped unhurt but all their belongings were consumed by the fire.

The incident came just two weeks after a Simba Coach bus ablaze in Kibwezi.
