The National Youth Service Corps has promised to provide artificial limbs for Nuruddeen Tahir, a corps member who lost his hand in an auto crash.
According to report monitored by CEOAfrica , Tahir, an indigene of Kano state had previously lost one hand before joining the NYSC for his mandatory youth service but lost the second one in an auto crash. Tahir was said to have been travelling to Gembu town, the headquarters of Sardauna local government area, Taraba state where they were posted for their national service with 18 other NYSC members when the accident happened.
The director general of the NYSC Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim also directed that artificial limbs be provided to Tahir.
The NYSC coordinator in Jalingo, Florence Yaakugh, revealed that an appeal made by some persons on social media for Tahir caught the attention of the corps, adding that the governor of Taraba state had taken care of the bill for the treatment of all the corps members involved in the accident.
The National Youth Service Corps is one-year scheme set up by the Nigerian government to involve Nigerian graduates in nation building and the development of the country.
