The Appeals Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] on Friday declared the suspension of two executive committee members of the federation "null and void."

Ahmed Yusuf also known as Fresh and Christopher Green were suspended from all football activities for alleged "anti-board activities for one year and six months respectively on Thursday.

The pair appealed the decision of the NFF executive committee claiming that the sitting had just six board members instead of eight which could have formed a quorum, according to Article 36 (1) of the football federation statutes.

"Chris Green and Ahmed Yusuf 'Fresh' in their appeal stated that the executive committee had only six members. So they feel their suspension was unjust as they also felt they were not given a fair hearing. That is why they filed appeals to that effect," said a source in NFF's administration to supersport.com on Friday.

The six executive committee members that sat and took the decision to suspend Green and Yusuf are Mike Umeh, Effiong Johnson, Emeka Inyama, Dilichukwu Onyedinma, Shehu Adamu and Suleiman Muazu.

However, the NFF appeals committee ruled that "the non-inclusion of the issue of suspension and ban in the agenda for the meeting held on 7 August 2014, has rendered the decision null and void and the suspension and the ban on the appellants is quashed and nullified.

"The inability to give the appellants the alleged offences in writing and get their response before punishment has rendered the suspension and ban of the appellants on the alleged offence null and void and the ban and suspension is hereby reversed," the NFF appeals committee ruled in its sitting in Abuja on Friday.

The appeals committee, chaired by Ibrahim Eddy Mark, further expressed surprised at the manner with which "the statute of [the] Nigeria Football Federation can be violated by Executive Committee members."

This week, Fifa demanded the NFF to provide it with details, including agenda of the executive committee meeting which removed Aminu Maigari as its president through an impeachment process.
