The maiden Convocation Ceremonies of Chrisland University which started with a lecture delivered by the former Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Universities Commission NUC, Professor Peter Okebukola on the theme “Building a World Class University in Africa: The Role of Private Universities” was a huge success.
Prof Okebukola while delivering the first lecture held at the Auditorium of the University on Wednesday 29th October called on the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to support private universities in their development.
The convocation which was chair by Emeritus Professor, Nimi Briggs, former Vice Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt has the following dignitaries in attendance; the Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, High Chief (Mrs.) Winifred A. Awosika (OON), Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Chinedum Peace Babalola, Prof Dr. Lekan Aare and wife, Provost college of medicine University of Ibadan, Prof Bunmi, Prof. Festus Ogbonna, Prof Adeinka Gladys(FAS), others.
