Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases hit 97

The number of coronavirus cases in Nigeria hit 97 on Saturday evening with eight fresh cases, says the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

“As at 10:40 pm 28th March, there are 97 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death,” it stated.

The virus has been recorded in 11 eleven states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Kaduna State joined the list on Saturday with the self-disclosure of Governor Nasir El-Rufai that he tested positive for coronavirus.

The governor said he is in self-isolation and his deputy governor is chairing the COVID-19 Task Force in the state and would issue statements from time to time.

A breakdown of the cases shows that Lagos has the highest number of cases with 59 infections followed by FCT with 16 infections.

Oyo-7 , Ogun-3,  while Enugu, Edo, Bauchi, and Osun recorded two cases each.

Ekiti, Rivers, Benue and Kaduna have a case each.
