FG TO STEP UP EFFORTS IN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

The Federal Government has disclosed its intention to widen within a space of 12 months, the competence of about six million Nigerian Youths through the Integrated Youth Empowerment Programme (IYEEP) launched with the Mara Foundation.

Ambassador Obinna Adim, Special Adviser to President GoodLuck Jonathan on Youth Empowerment disclosed this, stating that the partnership between the government and Mara Foundation was essentially to proffer a formidable base for youth empowerment as well as to lessen the number of youth unemployment across the country.

According to Ambassador Adim who stated that the initiative aims to provide solutions for youth leadership and development, the support services were expected to transform business ideas of entrepreneurs into profitable and thriving business entities that would employ other Nigerians and contribute to local, state and national economies.
