President Muhammadu Buhari approves re-sit examination for 23 directors in Federal Civil Service

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a re-sit examination for 23 directors in the federal civil service for the purpose of appointing four among them as permanent secretaries.

Note that the directors are among those who took part in the last exercise which led to the emergence of 12 permanent secretaries who were appointed out of the 16 approved by the President, therefore leaving four vacancies on June 16, 2020.

The announcement of the reseat was contained in a circular by the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, who said the President had approved re-sit examination for directors who did not make the final list in June but who are from Kaduna, Kebbi, Rivers and Zamfara States.

The circular dated August 11, 2020, and titled, ‘Commencement of the process of appointing permanent secretaries to fill existing vacancies in Kaduna, Kebbi, Rivers and Zamfara States’ read:

 “Following the outcome of the just concluded 2020 permanent secretaries selection exercise, Mr. President has further approved the conduct of re-sit examination for the accredited directors from Kaduna, Kebbi, Rivers, and Zamfara states to fill the existing vacancies.”

“Consequently, the accredited directors already issued with examination numbers from the four states are eligible to participate.”

According to the circular, the written examination will hold on Monday, August 31, 2020; while the ICT test slated for Wednesday, September 2, 2020, and the interactive session will hold on Friday, September 4.
