Several mosques in Ogun state experienced low turnout at the various worship centers after the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, called the reopening of worship centers and suspension of weekend lockdown in the state.

The state governor who had earlier made the announcement yesterday, in a statement made available to newsmen in their attempt to give an update on the efforts of the government in combating the COVID-19 pandemic in the state,  said that he took the decision after thorough deliberations with stakeholders.

According to report, only a limited number of mosques opened for the worshippers to observe the weekly prayers with many others still under lock and key.

The governor has however said any religious center that is guilty of violating the COVID-19 guidelines would be shut down.
