A horse riding festival is being celebrated in Libya following the surprise announcement of the ceasefire.

After the closure of the Equestrian school in tripoli for ten years now, Libyans said the occasion of the riding festival marks the ninth anniversary of the fall of Kadhafi and it was informed by the announcement of the ceasefire.

The festival witnessed Horse riders coming with their families from all corners of the country.

A Libyan horse rider, Hani Abdullah Rahoma, who described it as a symbol of peace, expressed hopes that everything will be better after this long period and prayed God to bless the people to host more celebrations.

Libya’s warring rival administrations had announced separately on Friday that they would cease all hostilities and hold nationwide elections which attracted praises from the United Nations, the European Union, and several Arab countries.
