Nigerian Breweries donate PPE kits, Sanitisers, Drinks to UCH

Nigerian Breweries Plc, foremost beverage firm in the country, has donated relief materials to University College Hospital,UCH, Ibadan.

The donations which comprises PPE Kits, Hand Sanitizers, Face Masks and Drinks were presented to the Chief Medical Director, Prof Jesse Otegbayo on Wednesday, 9th of September 2020, at the office of the CMD , University College Hospital, Ibadan.

In an interview with CEOAFRICA, the leader of the team and the brewery manager for Ibadan and Ijebu- Ode, Mr Tayo Ogundana stated that Nigerian brewery plc wants to show some solidarity with the hospital for the effort they put in place to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in Oyo State, and the effort to keep the infected people alive.

He further stated that Nigeria breweries have contributed to support government since the beginning of the pandemic.

In his words, Mr Tayo said “Nigerian brewery plc wants to show some solidarity with your organization. He later thank the team for the effort they put in place to curtail the spread of covid’19 virus in Oyo State, and the effort to keep the infected people alive.

“Nigeria breweries have contributed to support government since the beginning of the pandemic. Earlier this year, Nigeria brewery made a cash donation of six million naira to federal government and some state government, and also donated some pills product to medical facilities”.

“Also in the process of the year some equipment worth about Fourty million naira was donated to the college of medicine as our own support to the government in this difficult season”.

“ And we are here again to give our support to the UCH through the distribution of some PPE kit, sanitizers, Face masks and drinks to also support in protecting the medical personnel as they do their jobs,” he added.

In appreciation, the Chief Medical Director, Prof Jesse Otegbeyo thanked the Nigeria Brewery especially the brewery manager for Ibadan and Ijebu -Ode, Mr Tayo Ogundana together with his team for making it possible to visit them unsolicited.

The CMD stated that since the COVID-19 pandemic started, they have been able to survive because of the donation from some philanthropists, the inspired public and also from the ministry of health.
