Nigeria @60: Govt Should Involve Stakeholders In Educational System - Proprietress Lawson Group of Schools

The proprietress of Lawson Group of Schools, the Iyalode of Yoruba Land, Chief Mrs Alaba Lawson has advised the Federal Government to involve stakeholders in the educational sector in making policy decisions concerning the educational sector.

She gave the piece of advice in an interview session with CEOAFRICA in the school premises in Abeokuta Ogun State.

Speaking on the educational system, she appeals to the Federal Government that they should go back to the old system of employing Grade II teachers and stop using university graduates who know little or nothing about teaching.

She added that Teacher Training Colleges and Technical Colleges should be revamped in other to improve the educational system. In her words: " You cannot give what you do not have."

The Proprietress stated that Lawson Group of schools which started 43years ago is built on Morals, Discipline and Etiquettes which has sharpened all her students as they come out excellently anywhere they go.

She believes that parent’s inability to continue with what the children are being taught in school while at home is the missing link which has resulted to a lot of moral decadence.

She joined other Nigerians in the country to celebrate  as Nigeria  clocks 60 and prays for sustenance and God''s blessings on the nation.
