A group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Oyo state yesterday said the clamour for the return of the immediate past governor of the state, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala is being spearhead by some  people of the state.

The group also said the former governor will declare his governorship ambition at the PDP secretariat in the state capital on Thursday.

The group, under aupieces TEAMAKALA 2015 PROJECT said the yearning for Akala's return as governor of the state under the platform of the party in 2015 was being spearheaded by market women, students, artisans, civil servants and other concerned individuals who have been experiencing hardship due to the obnoxious policies of the present government made the governor to join the race.

TEAMAKALA 2015 PROJECT at its maiden press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Press Centre, Ibadan on Tuesday through its Coordinator, Prince Niran Adeyoju said " The professionals, youth, students and women in Oyo State are coming together under this umbrella, speaking in one voice, calling on the citizens of Oyo state to make a critical choice in 2015"

The group said market women, students, civil servants and other people from the 33 local government areas of the state have tested and trusted Alao-Akala and they want him to return as the governor in 2015.

"The most critical commentators and discerning public have agreed that, Otunba Alao Akala is an acknowledged benevolent leader, a distinguished Nigeria whose distinction as former governor of the state readily presents him as a man we need to

lead us out of the woods, having enough to eat, a place to sleep, and a good school

for our kids were never a problem for the indigenes of Oyo State between 2007 and 2011"

"Traditional rulers in the state are some of the people urging Alao-Akala to comeback and contest".

On the rationale behind his second coming, the group said "Akala's unrelenting zeal in initiating and executing people oriented programmes with direct impact on the

welfare of the people during his first term in office stand him out as the best manfor the highest job once again in 2015"

Adeyoju also declared that "Oyo state citizens in the Diaspora are in quest for a qualitative transformation in government and governance of the state".

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the team, Dr. Muhammed Kola Balogun while commenting said the government will have zero tolerance for thuggery and violence in the state.

He said Akala used his experience as a former police boss to maintain peace in the state through provision of materials and necessary support for the security agents.

"He was the first governor to purchase buses for all the security agencies in the state". He said most of the violence recorded were instigated by the opposition who were desperate to occupy the government in 2011.

On the misunderstanding on which zone will present the candidate, Balogun said the personality differences of the aspirants in the state would not give room for division, saying that there is no division within the party that internal differences are abound to happen before a candidate is chosen.

A former President, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), who is also the team's Public Affairs Director, Oludare Ogunlana said the group is not all about politicians but jobless youths on the streets, market women, traders, farmers and concerned citizens of the state who are in dire need of change of government he described as lacks human face.
