Mrs Ify Akerele, the pioneer Director-General of the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping, NCS and former President of Women in Shipping and Trade Association, WISTA Nigeria has thrown her full weight of support behind Nigerian Former Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in the race for the headship of the World Trade Organisation.

Mrs Akerele made this known in a chat with CEOAFRICA as she equally called on all women, in every sector to show the much-deserved support to the Former Minister in this race for the Director-General position of the WTO.

She said “I am adding my voice to the teeming female supporters of our very own Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala! I believe so much in her capability and professionalism that always reflects wherever she renders service. I also trust and believe that God will cause her to scale through this well-deserved appointment as DG of the WTO”.

Mrs. Akerele started her career with the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs and later served as the Special Assistant and Administrative Assistant to the DG, Nigerian Institute of International Affairs; and Executive Secretary of the institute of Directors, IoD Nigeria.
