One of the major voices of the #EndSARS protests, Aisha Yesufu, has urged protesters not to relent in their demand for the total reformation of the Nigeria Police Force.
This was disclosed on Wednesday morning in a video uploaded on her twitter handle.
Yesufu was reacting to the leadership tussle rocking some of the voices of the #EndSARS campaign.
The demonstrationswhich began on social media earlier this month had erupted into a nationwide protests leading to the disbandment of SARS on Sunday by The Federal Government.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Tuesday had announced that all defunct SARS operatives are to undergo psychological and medical examinations. He also set up the Special Weapons and Tactics Team that will replace the disbanded SARS.
The announcement was however welcomed with lack of conviction as previous promises to reform SARS and the entire police force were neglected.
State governors and the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, amongst others had subsequently engaged some of the leading voices of the protests to suspend their demonstrations to allow the government implement the announced measures.
The development led to an outcry by some factions of the #EndSARS campaign who were not at the meetings.
Nevertheless, Yesufu on Wednesday, advised the protesters not to be distracted by the leadership tussle but to keep their “eye on the ball.”
