Tight security in Ibadan as Akala declare guber ambition, Ladoja buries mother

 Tight security was experienced today in  Ibadan,Oyo state capital as two former governors of the state ,Senator Rashidi Ladoja and his successor in office,Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala held separate functions in different parts of the city.

While Senator Ladoja held the eighth day fidau  prayer and final burial prayer for his late mother,Alhaja Halimat Atoke who died last Wednesday at 94 ,Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala formally declared his governorship ambition to contest for the governor of the state in 2015.

Senator Ladoja's event took place at Recreation Club,Sabo while Otunba Alao-Akala's event was held Watershed event centre along old Ife Road in Ibadan.

Security operatives ,had ,as early as 7 a.m, positioned themselves in strategic places in Ibadan including Iwo road junction,Old Ife Road junction,Idi-Ape,Gate, Total Garden,Mokola Roundabout,Molete ,Challenge and Bode,among others.

Also, two police armoured vehicles (APC) were strategically positioned at major entrances to the venues of the two major events while armed policemen and plain clothe security operatives were also on ground.

Otunba Alao-Akala ,in his address at his declaration, promised  government with human face if he is elected as the state governor in 2015.

His words “By the special grace of God, my second coming will witness an all-inclusive governance and qualitative leadership. We shall also consolidate on our previous achievements in the areas of education, health, commerce and Agriculture .I make bold to say that every village and major town in Oyo state desire even development hence we shall continue with our policy of uplifting the rural areas as well as the urban centres with execution of people -oriented projects."

He said he had received over a hundreds of telephone calls asking me to come back and contest the governorship seat of the state

"I had received over hundred telephone call from market men and women, students and others asking me to come back and contest. I have made necessary consultations and now I yielded to their calls".

Earlier Jimoh Afeez who represented the people of Ogun said the people have been calling him to come back and contest and thank God he has accepted our plea, urging people to vote him en-mass during the 2015 election.

Mr J.G Adetoro also while speaking said when he saw the crowd at the event centre he was happy that the people would vote him in 2015.

Present at PDP Alao-Akala's declaration include Mogaji Nureni Akanbi,Chief Jacob Adetoro,Chief Adebisi Olopoeniyan,among others.

Personalities at Senator Ladoja's event are Former Governor Adebayo Alao Akala,  Gbenga Daniel, Governor Elect Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, Senator Teslim Folarin, Oloye Sarafadeen Ali and host of others that cut across political divide although majority of those in attendance were Accord members who turned the event to a carnival.
