The Northern Ulama Forum for Peace and Development has warned Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to desist from insulting the person or office of the President of the country, saying such an act was unbecoming of a public office holder.

President of the Forum, Ustaz Sabiu, who sounded the warning on behalf of the group, said it had become the pastime of Alhaji Kwankwaso to insult the President and render personal abuses on him.

According to him, insulting the President, calling him all manner of names with lack of decency and decorum at a public function is not expected of a high profile public servant as Governor Kwankwaso.

The forum was reacting to a statement credited to the Kano State governor in his speech during the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors Forum Public Lecture in Owerri, Imo State, and Tuesday, in which the governor was said to have insulted the person and office of the President in an unguided manner.

He said:  “The attention of the Northern Ulama Forum for Peace and Development has been drawn to yet another insult on the person and office of President Goodluck Jonathan by the governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
