The Vice- Chancellor of Chrisland University, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola on Wednesday, 4th of November, 2020 paid a courtesy visit to the President of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (FOBTOB), Comrade Quadri Olaleye at the FOBTOB national headqarters office in Lagos state.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the President for his support and contributions to nation building and development especially through his projects of building student hostels across Nigerian universities.
Prof Babalola also seized the opportunity to invite the President, who doubles as the current President of Trade Union Congress (TUC) to the 2nd Convocation Ceremony of Chrisland University.
The Vice-Chancellor revealed that the institution is focus on building future leaders and also making Chrisland University a world class institution in Africa
She stated that the Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology, African Union Commission, Prof. Sarah Anyang Agbor, will deliver the Convocation Lecture which is slated to take place on 26th of November 2020.
Prof. Babalola commended the FOBTOB president on his efforts towards building affordable hostels for Nigerian students and urged him to replicate the building of hostels in Chrisland University.
She prayed for more grace on the president to enable him pilot the affairs of FOBTOB to achieve more enviable heights.
Comr. Olaleye on his part, thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the courtesy visit, assuring her that FOBTOB will continue to do more to ensure youth development through education, adding that education is the only way Nigeria can move forward.
He assured that the Association will be willing to partner with Chrisland in other to make the dream of the university’s academic excellence be realized.
