BREAKING: IWSCRE appoints Okuribido as Coordinator Women Empowerment and Training

The Chairperson, Women in Sustainable Power Africa Network (WISPA-Net), Chief Mrs. Anita Nana Okuribido has been appointed Coordinator, Rural Women Empowerment and Training of the International Women Swimming Championship and Rural Empowerment (IWSCRE).

This was disclosed in an appointment letter seen by CEOAFRICA which was signed by the Director, Planning/Implementation, Dr Godwin Nbiene and the National Women Project Coordinator, Hajiya Ruqayyah Basheer .

In the letter, IWSCRE described Mrs Okuribido as a proactive philanthropist due to her numerous contributions and support to the less privileged and as such deserving of the appointment.

The letter partly read,” We are deeply encouraged by your numerous contributions and support in alleviating the sufferings of the less privileged in Africa; grateful for your support and philanthropic gestures.

“We are therefore pleased to appoint you as the Coordinator- Women Empowerment and Training towards hosting the upcoming International Women Swimming Championship and Rural Empowerment.”

The project is said to have been acknowledged by 15 African countries and endorsed by 8 namely; The Gambia, Ghana, Cote D’ Ivoire, Benin, Cameroon and Sierra Leone from which the most analytical and appropriate swimmers will be selected to compete in the championship for Peace and Justice in the Continent.

Also, various economic empowerment and trainings will be provided for many less privileged women and girls.

Mrs Okuribido who is widely and fondly known as “Mama Renewable Energy” is an advocate for women and the girl child and has continually given her maximum support to ensuring that African Women and Girls are spoken for and given the opportunity they need to stand out in the Green Growth to mitigate Climate Change.

The organization is also working with all the African First Ladies and Wives of the Governors of the 36 States of Nigeria to transform and change the narrative of Women and Girls in their Local Communitie
