It was gathered from Maputo, the capital of Mozambique that a Portuguese businessman, who was kidnapped in July has regained his freedom.

CEOAFRICA.com discovered that Joao Paolo Tavares, was kidnapped by armed gun men from his office on 16 July. They tied him up, bundled him into a sack and drove him to an unknown destination. The kidnappers destroyed the surveillance cameras in their victim’s establishment.

However, Tavares is said to be in good health, although it was not clear whether any ransom was paid to the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, another businessman known as Café, was killed by unknown assailants in his office at the weekend. It was reported that the killers did not steal anything from the office or the adjoining warehouse of the deceased. The knife used to kill him was left on the refrigerator in the office.
