A couple declared missing over 60 days ago have been found in the cell of the State Security Service in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Abdul Ganiy Jumah, an Islamic cleric and his wife, Muinat, were whisked away by unknown gunmen at their residence, 27, Fagbemi street, Ijoko, in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state at 3:am on the fateful day.

There has been confusion over the whereabouts of the Islamic Cleric and his pregnant wife since their disappearance.

A family source who spoke on condition of anonymity, said a call was received by the principal witness Lukman Oketokun on Tuesday to come to Abeokuta, headquarters of the State Security Service asking him to see the deputy director operations, at 10:am yesterday.

After the release of the wife, she spoke with our correspondent lamenting that the security personal did not tell them their offence.

“They only gave me a letter from a gynaecologist who advised me to proceed to the hospital for delivery”.

When asked about her experience while in the SSS cell, Muinat said she was subjected to a lot of rigorous experience despite her condition.

Reacting to the development, the head of the legal team for the couple, Musodiq Sanni threatened that they were going to take action against the Director of Security Service over alleged violation of their human rights.

“What the law says is that once someone is arrested, he must be charged to court within 24 hours. But, they did not let them know their offence. They detained them for 60 days, and it is against the law.
