Gov. Seyi Makinde
Concerned group of people in the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State, the Pacesetters Initiative (TPI), have blamed the governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the level of insecurity in the state.
The group said that insecurity in the state began to worsen since the governor succeeded the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi in May 2019.
It was alleged that Oyo state had witnessed series of criminal practices such as armed banditry, hoodlum attacks, kidnapping, murder, gang wars, amidst others in places like Ibarapa, Oke-Ogun, Ogbomoso and Oyo.
The group had, in this case, attributed insecurity in the state to the Governor’s alleged incompetence and inexperience.
However, People Democratic Party (PDP), in a statement by the Publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji, had described the allegations by APC on the rising insecurity in the state to Governor Makinde as "lame and mischievous".
It is said, that “President Muhammadu Buhari, rather than the governor, should be called to question on the failure of the security system across the country, including Oyo State.”
