Vice-President Namadi Sambo Cutting the tape to commission Newly Renovated FCID Complex in Abuja
CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the newly renovated complex of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) was commissioned today in Abuja by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The President, who was represented by Vice-President Namadi Sambo, described the event as a significant one which would enhance the effective policing of lives and properties of Nigerians.
In his speech, the President urged for proper maintenance of the complex. “It showcases the resolve of government to provide an enabling environment for the security of lives and property of Nigerians and that the necessary support infrastructure is also provided aimed at improving efficiency and welfare of the Police Force. It is imperative that I reiterate the need for proper maintenance of this beautiful building.
Furthermore, the President said, “It is my advice that strict code of maintenance should be put in place and vigorously enforced to ensure that the building stands the test of time.”
Also, the Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Abubakar was commended by the President for his numerous efforts aimed at repositioning the police in the country. He also commends the police management team for completing the project at a reasonable amount of money.
Present at the commissioning were Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade (rtd), Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ola Ibrahim, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Alex Badeh, Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba, Former Inspectors-General of Police etc.
The cutting of the tape was done by Vice-President Namadi Sambo, ably assisted by Inspector-General of POLICE, Mohammed Abubakar and Minister of Police Affairs Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade (rtd).
