All is set for ruling on appeal filed by former Liberian President Charles Taylor challenging his 50-years jail term judgement by the International Court of Crimes (ICC) situated in Hague, Netherland.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the verdict would be delivered by judges at the UN back Special Court for Sierra Leone next month (September 2013). The date will be confirmed soon.

It would be recalled that final defense of the appeal was made in January this year, with Charles Taylor telling the judges that he was pleased with the proceeding.

He said, ā€œIā€™m very appreciative of the handling of the proceedings so far, and I have the belief that the right thing will be done by the grace of Almighty God.ā€

On 30 May 2012, Taylor was sentenced to 50-years in jail after being found guilty of all 11 counts of indictments which include planning of crimes, and of aiding and abetting crimes committed by rebel forces in Sierra Leone.

The verdict is expected to end a long standing trial which made him to be ousted from office, then seek asylum in Nigeria before his final arrest.
