Our beloved country Nigeria has come a long way with lots of ups and downs through these past years; but no matter what gets thrown at us, we will remain in love with our Mother land. From our colonization by the British in 1885, through our years of oppression and eventual independence in 1960, Nigeria as we know it has been molded into a greater nation than was imagined. Yes we have had our fair share of trials, yes we have made a lot of mistakes and yes we haven’t gotten to that point where we all long to be; but some facts are undeniable – We love our country Nigeria, we have come a long way, Nigeria is not perfect but we have definitely gone farther than we expected and there is still no place like home for the Nigerian…there will never be a place like Nigeria! It is in this spirit of ‘Love For Our Country’ and the upcoming Independence Day Celebrations that Naij.com is bringing you the ‘Naij Independence Contest’.
