Radamel Falcao’s loan spell at Manchester United might be cut short, if the striker picks up an injury.

The Colombian hitman agreed a season-long loan deal with the Premier League side this summer, after undergoing knee surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament before the 2014 World Cup.

United, who pulled out of the deal to sign Arturo Vidal because of fitness concerns, are reportedly monitoring the player’s progress closely and are ready to rip up the loan deal if it becomes necessary.

Falcao is yet to score for the Old Trafford side, but the £340k-a-week man provided a fine assist for Robin van Persie, to open the scoring against Leicester City on Sunday, although they eventually lost 5-3 to the hosts.
