Senator Chris Ngige has been nominated as flagbearer of the APC in the November 11 Anambra governorship polls. The announcement was made by the leader of APC in the south east, Rochas Okorocha during a leaders meeting of the Party which held on Wednesday in Abuja.
Ngige’s nomination was confirmed when the Interim Acting National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande lifted his hand as a gesture of presentation to Nigerians. Other aspirants including Senator Annie Okonkwo who stepped down for Ngige, a serving lawmaker representing Anambra Central in the Senate, agreed to cooperate with him to ensure the victory of the party at the polls.
Speaking during the meeting, Chief Akande said the All Progressive Congress “is the change agent that Nigeria needs. Come 2015 when they take over, the party will fix all Nigeria’s problems.
He called on all Nigerians and all party members to remain focused and work towards victory at the polls.
According to him, “What brought APC to being is the trauma which Nigeria has gone through.
“We are going into government because of money or power but because of the trauma Nigeria has been subjected to since independence.
