FCAH&PT’s College of Extension Services visits two science schools in Ibadan for outreach programme

Saturday, 12th June 2021: The Provost and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal College of Animal Health & Production Technology, (FCAH&PT), Moor Plantation, Ibadan, Dr Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo, has been commended for approving the agricultural Research Outreach Centres, (AROC)’s visits to some selected schools in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

The Director of Extension Services, Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology Ibadan, Dr Grace Oyinlola Alonge, gave the commendation during a tour of two selected science schools in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The schools visited were Alayande School of Science and Wesley College of Science at Elekuro, Ibadan.

Dr Alonge explained that under the Agricultural Research Outreach Centres’ programme, they have schools and villages that have been adopted for regular visit to create awareness and among the students concerning the activities of the College and agricultural extension programmes.

At the Wesley College, Elekuro, Ibadan, the team inaugurated the Young Farmers’ Club as part of the activities of catching them young.

The College of Extension Services has as part of its mandates extending agricultural research breakthroughs of the College to its neighbouring environment and creating awareness of the College’s activities as well as impacting her immediate environment on agriculture and other relevant areas, amongst others.
