The Oyo state government has said that the barricade and gate removed from the Harvester Drive leading to Jogor center is not political.

Taiwo Akintola, from Oyo state public works in an interview with CEOafrica at the scene of the demolition said the road had been abandoned for years and realised the need to construct the road and remove the barricade for public use.

Taiwo Akintola said that the road is an alternate route for road users and there is no need for anyone to have barricaded the road which is meant for the general public, saying that the fence maybe for the security of the residence on the other side.

He said government action is simply development not a politics, saying that the opposition only wants tarnish the image of government of Oyo state.

He said that the Ajimobi led government is doing it best to ensure that public interest is in place, that they are opening the road to discharge people from Joyce-B road, since government does not have enough resources to repair the Joyce-B road, so can go through harvester road to link Liberty road.

He said that notice was not given to the residence in the state rather the activities of government is enough for a notice, saying that government has been on the construction of the road for over 4months.
