Fans jubilate as BigWiz sells out O2 tickets in 120 seconds

FRIDAY: 3rd September, 2021: Popular Nigerian musician and Grammy Award-winning singer, Wizkid, is currently trending at number one on the Nigerian Twitter space and the reason is not far-fetched. The Grammy Award-winning singer has sold out his Made In Lagos tour tickets in two minutes.

The concert is billed to hold in London’s O2 arena as part of The 02: The Welcome Back Show as the event centre had been on a break due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

The O2 Arena, which is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the centre of the O2 entertainment complex on the Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London, has a 20,000-sitting capacity, and is the second-highest seating capacity of any indoor venue in the United Kingdom, after the Manchester Arena.

While the show initially had two dates for the concert, the singer sold out tickets for the second date in 35 minutes which he announced via his official social media accounts.

Subsequently, on popular demand by his fans, a third date was added for Star Boy’s O2 concert as announced via the verified Twitter account of The 02 Arena.

Shortly after the announcement, the singer, again, sold out the tickets within minutes and many of his die-hard fans, reacting to the record-breaking news, have taken to their social media pages to express their opinion.

Popular Instagram entertainer,Tunde Ednut, via his verified Instagram handle, wrote, "Wizkid released 2 more dates for his show at the O2 in London and still sold out again. Ah ah! What's happening? Sold out again? Una wan watch the show 3 times over and over again? How many people dey London? This love en! CELEBRATE GRACE. My younger brother doing it big."

Popular Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Neptune, via his verified Twitter handle, wrote, “@wizkidayo’s grace is divine! 3 days crusade of BIG WIZ vibes at 02 is unbelievable. Man just set a new record…. Pure #Greatness.”

The Twitter user, @obaoriade, urged the singer to hold a concert in Surulere. He tweeted, “Btw, @wizkidayo you owe us at least one Surulere Stadium concert, and I think the time is now!!! Surulere stadium for Made In Lagos tour!!!”

Popular celebrity business man, Obi Cubana, via his verified Instagram handle, simply wrote, "Star boy! BigWiz”

A tweep, @mercibeaucoup_x, simply wrote, “At this rate, Wizkid should just hold a week-long crusade because how does one sell out like that??”

A fan of the Star Boy, @BigMallyy, claims the singer is the first African artiste to break the record. He wrote on Twitter, “@wizkidayo becomes the first African Artist to Sell Out The O2 Arena in 2 Minutes, breaking his first record as the first to sell out the Arena in 12 Minutes.”

Another Twitter user, @iamOkon, said, “Wizkid can announce one straight week of performing at O2 and it’s going to keep being sold out every day and in record time too. Man is too loved, been consistent and a top performer too. Wembley could actually be next!”
