The National Youth Service Corps in Otuoke, Bayelsa State gets a face lift as the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) inaugurates A-44 room building for the Youth Corp members.
According to Iditoye Abosede, Public Affairs Officer of the Commission, quoting the Acting Managing Director of the commission, Christy Atako in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the building would accommodate 88 corps members on primary assignment in Otuoke.
Atako said the rooms were fitted with air-conditioners, water heaters and many others. She also said the complex had one large conference room and an ICT centre.
“In the coming weeks, we will be commissioning some projects that have been completed so as to erase the negative notion that NDDC was not doing enough to develop the region”, she said, adding that the project was completed within the scheduled time.
Michael Abisha, representing the corps members, said the apartment would encourage members to offer selfless service to the nation.
