The Oyo State Commissioner Of Police, CP. Kola Shodipo at his maiden press briefing at the Oyo state Police headquarters conference hall today 2nd of October 2014, described his coming to Oyo state Police command as 2nd missionary journey.

During the press briefing, the CP unveiled Oyo state Police command's 7 points agenda with which they will steer the ship of security in Oyo state which includes; community Led Policing, visibility Policing, Robust media police relations, intelligence led Policing, non partisanship to politics, war against political thuggery and brigandage, rooting out motorcyclist robbers, he said.

Furthermore he said, with the police existing crime prevention and detection strategies to be anchored on the 7point agenda, he is optimistic that crime wave in the state will further decrease.

"I need to emphasis here that the command will collaborate with the Chief security officer of the state as well as synergies with other security agencies with the intention of ensuring the safety and security of Oyo state" CP said.

The CP assures the general public that police officers and rank and file of Oyo state Police command have been urged to ensure they fully transmute into people's friendly police, that will respect and uphold the fundamental rights of citizens in accordance to the will and policy of the new inspector general of Police IGP Suleiman Abba.

In conclusion, he promised and assured members of the public to live up to their new slogan "Police is your friend and helper".
