SATURDAY- 2nd October, 2021: The Executive Secretary of the International Centre for Research and Documentation on African Tradition and Languages, Professor Charles Binam-Bikoi has called on Africans to embrace the culture of peace.
The erudite professor made this known while speaking with CEOAFRICA on the occasion of the UN International Day for Non-violence.
The Humanities and Social Sciences scholar advised that Africans and the rest of the world must imbibe the “culture of peace and shun violence” as the only way for a better society.
Prof Charles further stated that “God has created people to be strong and weak, rich and not very rich. It is through the understanding of these differences that we all come to appreciate ourselves.”.
October 2nd is marked as the UN International Day for Non-violence and Also celebrated as the birthday for the Indian Philosopher Mahatma Gandhi, it is an occasion for the dissemination of messages of non-violence, peace, tolerance, understanding, through public awareness and education.
