Fire at Nguru Market

Fire guts popular Yobe market, shops and valuable destroyed.

Several shops and goods worth millions of naira have been destroyed by fire at Nguru popular central market in Yobe State.

CEOAFRICA gathered that the cause of the fire incident is yet to be known, but eyewitnesses said it might have been caused by illegal electrical connections. Sympathizers and traders gather at the Nguru popular central market following the fire outbreak.

According to Chairman of the United Marketers Association, Potiskum Chapter, (UMAPO), Nasiru Mata confirmed the incident in this statement.

“I’m currently at the scene of the fire disaster”.

“We do not know the actual cause of the inferno, but firefighters have immediately responded to our call and are doing their best to put off the fire,” he said.

Nguru, is one of the populous local governments in which Governor Mai Mala Buni has almost completed the construction of a modern market to reduce congestions.
