PEFTI Commences Student Film Festival

The internationally-renowned PEFTI Film Institute, Ajao Estate, Lagos, has commenced an annual 2-Day Student Film Festival.
On Thursday 11th September, 2014, the French Embassy conducted a Film Day at PEFTI Film Institute. Mr Pierre Cherruau (Head Audio-Visual Unit, French Embassy) gave a lecture based on BAFTA Award-winning Film, “A Prophet”.

On Monday 15th September, 2014, a Panel of Judges including Gina Ehikodi (GM of wapTV); Olatubosun Olaegbe (C.E.O. of Genesis Studios); Steve Sodiya (C.E.O. of Nu Koncept Studios) and Pierre Cherruau selected the winners, out of 50 Student Films that had been screened and shortlisted, and then handed out plaques and prizes.

According to Abiola Adenuga, PEFTI Film Institute Registrar, “PEFTI Student Film Festival is an annual event; and shall partner with various organisations, with the sole aim of discovering, harnessing, celebrating and promoting the creativity and skills of student filmmakers worldwide”.

PEFTI Student Film Festival was attended by over 500 filmmakers, artistes, enthusiasts and students. The event was sponsored by the French Embassy, GOOGLE (owners of YouTube), StarTimes Pay TV, Kontakt, Aquarite Water and wapTV.
